Business owners often start their business with a vision of what their business will allow them to achieve in their personal lives. The day-to-day realities of running their business take over and they lose track of how their business should be aligned with achieving their personal vision of success. Rather than running their business strategically, they are subject to the tyranny of the urgent. There is a better way.

I’ve had a long and diverse career, from the thrill of an artificial intelligence startup in the 1980s, to consulting for some of the top companies in the world. I’m able to work both at a very strategic level, manage teams of upwards of a hundred people as well as roll up my sleeves and make individual contributions. At TAB I’ve been able to apply these diverse skills to develop tools and process that help our members and facilitators run more successful businesses.

My greatest satisfaction in being part of TAB is facilitating business owner advisory boards. I’ve found that owners of new as well as established businesses – thriving and struggling businesses – all find great value in discussing their challenges and opportunities with other owners who know what it’s like to walk in their shoes. There is no business theory in TAB Board Meetings. Instead, we discuss real issues, business and personal, and the members provide real-world, experienced-based advice to assist each other. The combination of boards and business coaching is a very powerful formula.
